The Whitefriars Journal was published between May 1900 and May 1923, and revived in October 2001 under the new title The Whitefriar. It contains dinner reports, articles, photos and news about our club. Here you can read online or download all the past and recent issues of the Whitefriars Journal. The first issue of the Whitefriars Journal was published in May 1900. Friar Robert Leighton became its editor in January 1903, and remained at its helm until June 1909, when he was replaced by Friar G.B. Burgin, who would oversee its publication for the following fourteen years. In 1923, Friar Burgin resigned as editor, due to business commitments, and the first incarnation of the journal ceased to exist.
The journal was revived under the new name The Whitefriar in October 2001, and its first two volumes were published under the editorship of Friar James Corsan. Friar Alan Williams took up the position of editor in 2004 and continued in that role, handling the journal’s design, publication and distribution, for almost twenty years. Vol. 22, No. 1 (June 2023). The journal is currently under the editorship of Friar Elisabetta Minervini.
